The mission of the Resident Manager program is to provide self-selected individuals the opportunity for placement as Resident Managers in a Safe Haven project. This program is done in collaboration with many partners, including Milwaukee County Housing, Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Department and community-based case management agencies.
The Guest House provides 150 hours of classroom education and field work which results in our previously homeless men providing resident management services to four Safe Haven locations in the Milwaukee area. Safe Havens provide transitional living to homeless individuals living with a severe and persistent mental illness. During a stay in the Safe Haven, a guest is stabilized through an incredible support system. The Resident Managers, educated by the Guest House, are the glue that holds the program together. They provide twenty-four hour a day coverage, interacting with, monitoring and supporting each guest.
